Guidelines for a Working Relationship
This document was developed by the members of the ELC-PNG Partners Forum to be the basic guidelines of the working relationship of the Lutheran Overseas Partner Churches working with ELC-PNG. The Consensus Statements established the guiding principles for its development. All other agreements and policy decisions made to guide the working relationships between the partner churches must fit under these guidelines.
This is a document developed by ELC-PNG to be its guidelines for the work of partnership between districts, circuits, and institutions of ELC-PNG and their related partners of the Lutheran Overseas Partner Churches. This document was ratified by the 2004 ELC-PNG Partners Forum and then updated by the ELC-PNG Partnership Committee in August 2005.
Three Party Agreement
This is the Agreement that is specified in the Guidelines for a Working Relationship Section B.6.
The first document of Agreement No. 3 is the version filled out by the Sending Agency and signed by a representative of the Sending Agency and the Missionary. When the missionary comes to Papua New Guinea for the first time, it is presented to the ELC-PNG.
The second document is the version filled out by the ELC-PNG requesting that the missionary be returned for an additional term of service. This document is signed by a representative of ELC-PNG and given to the Missionary to take to the Sending Agency to be signed by the Missionary and a representative of the Sending Agency.
Four Party Agreement
The document of Agreement No. 5 is the version for the south south program filled out by Sending Agency and signed by a representative of the Sending Agency and the Missionary. When the missionary come to Papua New Guinea for the first time, it is presented to the ELC-PNG.
- ↑ Please note that there are exceptions, when the Three Party Agreement is not used: in the cases of staff members coming from non-LOPC organizations (ie., Horizont 3000, Canadian University Services Overseas (CUSO), etc.) and in the cases of staff members coming with other contract arrangements, including South-South missionaries, for example.
